Privacy Policy

Effective September 30, 2026.

SipRanker is a private group tasting scorecard. We process participant names, event membership, ratings, notes, uploaded photos, optional contact details, browser identifiers, and SMS consent records to operate events, sync data, and deliver requested access links.

Who can see information

Event participants can see the group roster and tasting activity. Contact details entered into the existing organizer roster are visible to the event group. SMS preferences submitted through the preferences form are restricted to the participant and organizer. Photos are fetched with current event access when you open the app; a photo saved offline remains on that device until its browser storage is cleared. QR codes for personal invitations are generated in your browser. Firebase provides authentication, database and photo storage; DreamHost hosts the website; Twilio processes SMS delivery when enabled.

Usage measurement

Google Analytics may collect usage and device information. We measure steps such as group creation, opening an invitation, saving a first rating, returning to an outing, and completing registration. These product events use fixed labels and broad time ranges. They do not include invitation tokens, event IDs, names, rating values, tasting notes, or photo contents.

Email registration

Email registration uses Firebase Authentication to verify your address and deliver requested sign-in links. Your registration email and private list of linked outings are not added to the shared group roster. Registering does not enroll you in marketing messages. Existing organizer-entered contact details are separate from your registration email.

Mobile information

Message frequency varies with link requests. Message and data rates may apply. Public SMS enrollment records are stored privately for your browser identity and service administration; they are not shared with event participants.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties, except service providers necessary to operate the messaging service. We do not sell personal information or SMS consent.

Contact and partnership inquiries

When you use our contact form, we send your name, email address, optional organization, inquiry type and message to the SipRanker support inbox to respond. DreamHost processes the form and email delivery. This does not subscribe you to marketing. Please do not include passwords, private invitation links or payment information.

The form uses a temporary secure session cookie and short-lived, hashed network identifiers to limit abuse. We do not store inquiry bodies in the form’s rate-limit records. Daily rate-limit records are replaced on the next day’s use. Your message and our replies may remain in our support mailbox while needed to handle the inquiry and related follow-up; contact us to request access, correction or deletion. The contact page does not load analytics.

Your choices

SMS is optional. Withdraw permission through SMS preferences, reply STOP to the sending number when messaging is active, or contact your event organizer. For help, access, correction or deletion requests, contact the organizer who provided your event link. Event records remain until removed by the organizer; consent and delivery records may be retained to document messaging permission and honor opt-outs. Browser storage may retain offline copies until cleared.

Keep personal links private: an unclaimed invitation can grant access to that participant’s outing. Once linked to an email account, that participation requires its owning account. SipRanker is intended for adults aged 21 and older.
