Find an event
Browse the event directory for dates, locations and organizer details. Choose your tickets and arrange a safe way home.
A short checklist for your group
- Agree on a meeting place and a backup meeting time.
- Check official entry rules, including identification, bag and re-entry requirements.
- Save tickets and essential venue information where you can reach them with poor service.
- Charge your phone and decide how you’ll get home.
- Create a shared tasting outing and send each friend their own link.
- Open those links online before arriving and make sure each person sees their own name.
Your invitation link opens your place in the outing. Send the right link to each person rather than posting one personal link for the whole group.
Make a shortlist
Pick a few things you are curious about: a different style, a producer you haven’t tried, or a bottle you want to compare with a familiar favorite. Leave time for conversations and breaks. Keep your shortlist in your notes.
While you’re there: capture the useful details
A photo of the bottle is a good memory aid, especially for special releases and barrel picks. Add enough of the name to distinguish it, then give it your own score. A short comment such as “dry finish” or “try this again at home” can help more than a long note written later.
Keep the tasting pace comfortable and make room for water and food. Recording a favorite is more useful than chasing a total. Your group can compare scores without agreeing on a single “correct” answer.
Prepare for unreliable reception
Load SipRanker while you have a connection. Ratings can save locally while offline and sync when connectivity returns. Photos stay queued on your device until the app can upload them. Reopen the app online before clearing browser data or moving to another device.
Offline support doesn’t make a new, unopened invitation available without a connection. Complete the initial load and any needed registration ahead of time.
Afterward: make a short list worth keeping
Compare the bottles you each liked, look at how many scores contribute to an average, and revisit the pours that split the group. A favorite based on one person’s rating is different from a favorite shared by the whole table.
For another outing, choose a fresh invitation list. Returning tasters can register their email and link their outings to their account.
